Carly Rae Jepsen is the kind of pop star who puts out hit after hit but still manages to seem like the kind of person who’d join you on a spontanteous midnight jaunt or impromptu trip. Her latest music video for her song “Run Away With Me” shows her doing just that.
Traipsing through Washington Square Park in NYC, the 7th arrondissement of Paris, and Tokyo’s bright city streets, the Canadian singer brings a carefree vibe to her catchy, romantic song. The video, filmed with homemade grainy quality, matches the track’s youthful and nostalgic mood as Jepsen dances in her hotel room, frolics through tourists, and unsurprisingly hits up a karaoke bar. Jepsen’s latest has quickly become our weekend getaway anthem (and possible frontrunner for song of the summer). It’s got us itching for the chance to jet off to a new city. If this is any indication of what’s to come on her upcoming album, E•MO•TION, we’re in for a wild ride. This is one of the best pop songs to come out of 2015.
