Even Chrissy Teigen Gets Nervous Around Beyoncé
The relatable model remains relatable
Celebrities, they’re just like us. They get nervous around other celebrities, too.
Our favorite human being, Chrissy Teigen, stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Tuesday night to gush about seeing Beyoncé during the Grammy Awards this past Sunday. Nevermind the fact that her husband, John Legend, has worked with Jay Z in the past, that Teigen has met more stars than we ever will, and is friends with the Kardashians, she was still awestruck.
“There’s nobody like seeing Beyoncé in person. It’s just so incredible,” she told the late-night host. “The aura that comes around her. I mean, she just emits this aura that’s spectacular.” She decided to infiltrate that aura and say hi to the singer. “On our way out, I was like, ‘We have to say something, right?’” she recounts. “And I took both her hands—I don’t do this for anybody, it was very weird—and John’s like, ‘What the hell are you doing?’ And I took her hands and I got down on my knees, and I was like, ‘Sorry to bother you, my Queen.’ Like, who says that? It was like, m’lady. Like, what do you—who am I?”
There are a handful of icons who we would love to meet but, also, wouldn’t mind not meeting for fear of embarrassing ourselves in front of them due to pure excitement. High up on that list, for most people, is probably Beyoncé. Honestly, it would be weird if you didn’t get nervous around the singer. As Teigen proves, none of us are worthy of the Queen.
