The Look: Chloe Grace Moretz

I don't need it to be summer to be into daisy print. Especially not when it's got a bit of a rebel edge--which is how I'd describe Simone Rocha's take on the classic flower. Exhibit a: Chloe Grace Moretz, rocking it at last year's People's Choice Awards. Of course, neon green helps--but since the spring '13 collection is long off shelves, this Forever 21 skater-style dress should do the trick.

The Face: Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh

No, I don't love this iteration of Marc's practically-iconic fragrance because of the ads that go with it, but it certainly makes me give an extra spritz or two when I imagine that I too am lounging in a field filled with daisies. Related: The pink-yellow-white combo is an underrated one.

The Inspiration: Alice in Wonderland

This movie has changed my life in a lot of ways. For one thing, it was how I met my BFF--we were at a holiday party and she was in a room watching the movie alone (we were 3 years old, FYI). For another, it has made me fantasize about spending hours rolling around in a field filled with daisies, just as Alice does while singing "In A World Of My Own." I still haven't found the perfect spot yet, but I'm going to be daydreaming about it all day long. What winter?!

The News: Haters Gonna Hate, Wendy Davis Edition

We take a break from all the daisy talk to remind you that sexism is alive and well. Exhibit A: Wendy Davis, the Texas State Senator who first made waves during her filibuster of anti-choice legislation and is now running for governor of Texas, is facing Republican attacks claiming she's a bad mother who abandoned her children. Besides the fact that her own children have come out in defense of her parenting, you have to wonder: Would a father running for office ever be told he abandoned his children by going to Harvard Law School (by the likes of Bristol Palin, no less)?

The Song: The Cardigans - "Fine"

If you asked me for my all-time favorite song list, this is the one I'd reference when talking about the song that just makes me happy. It's early Cardigans--yes, the Swedish pop band existed before "Lovefool"--and comes off one of the most underrated albums ever, Life. Add it to your record collection here.
