Eminem spoke truth to power at the 2018 iHeartRadio Music Awards. During last night's performance of "Nowhere Fast," his 2017 Revival song with Kehlani, Em added a verse at the top of the song that called out the NRA.
"Sometimes I don't know what this world has come to," he rapped. "It's blowing up/ This whole country is going nuts." He went on to say that the NRA is standing in everyone's way and that "they love their guns more than our children." He also called out the fact the government won't do anything about it because the NRA has threatened to withhold donor money should a politician speak out against the organization.
Parkland shooting survivor Alex Moscou introduced Eminem. "We're tired of hearing politicians send their thoughts and prayers to us and doing nothing to make the necessary changes to prevent this tragedy from happening again," Moscou said before the performance. "School is a place where we should feel safe, and if those elected to represent us won't do what's right and keep us safe, then we're gonna be too loud for them to ignore."
The message was clear: say yes to gun reform and resist. See the introduction and performance, below.
