High Waisted is a surf rock meets dream pop band based in New York. Fronted by Jessica Louise Dye, this four-piece emits nothing but lo-fi vibes. Today, we're premiering their music video for "Party in the Back." Concepted, filmed, and edited by the band, it shows a typical night out in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. (Fashion designer Jamie McCarty custom designed and sewed all of the rad party outfits!)
"We all work at places on Ludlow Street and we all met on Ludlow Street," Dye told us in an email. "In a city as big and tough as NYC, it's my own little slice of community, where everyone knows each other. The theme for our debut album and this video stay true to the sentiment that 'good girls are bad girls who don't get caught.' I've been lucky to surround myself with talented, inspirational, and beautiful women. This video celebrates the right we girls have to dance, scream, skin our knees, hold hands, and most importantly, to feel sexy."
