Miley Cyrus Covers Dolly Parton’s “Jolene,” Again

Still good, though

by Hayden Manders

Miley Cyrus is very good at singing. This we know to be true. The world first had this epiphany back in 2012 when a pre-bleach Cyrus held her first of many backyard sessions, performing a cover of "Jolene" by her godmother, Dolly Parton. Since then, you can't utter "Miley Cyrus" and "cover" without mentioning "Jolene." You could say it's become a thing—a fun and very enjoyable thing, but a thing nonetheless.

On this week's episode of The Voice, where Cyrus has been playing judge, Dolly Parton and the Pentatonix joined her on stage for another delightful rendition of "Jolene." Previously, Parton and the Pentatonix performed "Jolene" for Cracker Barrel. Cyrus and Parton, too, have been to this rodeo many times before. It's a family affair at this point. Watch closely, and you'll catch Parton using her acrylics as a washer board. Turn up!
