Noah Schnapp On The Fate Of ‘Stranger Things’ Will Byers: “He’s Going To Become Evil”
Say it ain’t so
The last time we saw Will Byers, he was having some major indigestion issues. What it means for the future of the pint-sized hero remains to be seen, after all, the second season of Stranger Things has barely started production. But that didn't stop Noah Schnapp—the actor who plays Will on the Netflix phenomenon—from making some bold predictions on what we can expect.
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Schnapp speculated about his character's potentially twisted fate. "Just like you said, I don’t know," Schnapp says. "But my guess is that maybe he’s going to become evil in the next season. If he’s coughing up these baby Demogorgons, or eggs, or something, maybe he’s incubating or holding these eggs inside of him and he’s trying to fight his good side against his bad side in the next season. That would be cool to see, to see him become evil.”
While Schnapp is still totally in the dark as to what lies ahead (just like the rest of us), he made it perfectly clear where he sees his character going. "There are so many ways Will can go in the next season with how they set it up," he adds. "But honestly, any way would be pretty cool. But it would be pretty cool to play an evil Will.”
As for what Will's been up to since we last saw him, Schnapp suspects that he's probably "going crazy."
"So much has happened," Schnapp explains. "He’s seen this crazy monster. He’s been in another dimension. He’s seen this other world. He’s probably thinking: ‘What is happening with me?’ When he comes back, I think he’s trying to fit in and act normal. But he’s trying to hide what’s actually happening to him."
