Soak Chvrches
a remix so cool, it’s frozen.
We hate to be all, "we totally called it!" but in this case, we did. SOAK first creeped into our eardrums a couple of weeks ago with her debut single "Blud," and we predicted big things for this North Ireland musician (whose real name is Bridie Monds-Watson, by the way). Not only is she signed to Chvrches' label, she's only 17-years-old.
Meaning, she might be an emerging music star--but she still has to do the annoying high school things (like take bio exams), even after dominating gigs and winning comparisons to everyone from Lykke Li and Cat Power. After shooting straight to the top of Hype Machine with "Blud," SOAK's pals Chvrches have reworked the track with their remix magic. They've cranked up the speed, injected some mesmerizing beats, and twisted the gorgeous ballad into a shimmery electro-pop gem that's about to explode upon dance floors everywhere.
