Stella McCartney Spring 2012
five ways to make your wednesday rule.
The Curator:
Senior Web Editor
The Look:
Opening Ceremony Moto Skirt, $140
It's still tights weather on the East Coast right now, meaning that it will be at least a few more weeks before I can break out this sea blue skirt. But when Mother Nature allows it, you'd better bet I'll be wearing this tomboyish outfit combo all day, everyday.
The Face:
L'Oreal Infallible Silkissime Eyeliner in Plum, $8.99
Hello, new favorite eyeliner! I've already reached
Hoarders
status on my stash of black liners, but plum? This is a first, and the silky-smooth pencil has given me an excuse to add another into the mix. It's less severe than black, makes light-colored eyes pop, and stays on forever. Sold.
The News:
Before you roll your eyes, like, "Does the world really need another YA book-turned-movie?," watch this trailer, starring Dylan O'Brien and Kaya Scodelario, below. I was skeptical too...but that soon changed, trust me.
The Inspiration:
Stella McCartney spring 2012 ad campaign
These gorgeous ads might be a couple of seasons old, but they still haunt my dreams
and
my wardrobe (in the best way possible, obviously). Between McCartney's designs themselves, model Natalia Vodianova, and the coolest floral motif ever, it's no wonder I think it's so dreamy.
The Song:
"88" - Lowell
The latest track from Toronto's Lowell is a glitchy mishmash of weird electronic beats, sugary pop melodies, and a highly repetitive, highly addictive chorus. Give it a spin here and don't be alarmed if the "oooohs" come out of your mouth sooner than you expect.
