21 New Beauty Products To Help Ease You Into Summer

Summer is slowly creeping toward us, and with it comes impromptu beach trips, higher electricity bills, and a yearning for new beauty products. And when it comes to the latter, ’tis the season to be extra.

Bold eyeshadow, rose gold highlighters, sheet masks you can wear out in public (nothing screams “I’m diligent about my self-care” than making sure everybody sees you engaging in it)—these are just some of the launches you have to look forward to. If the beauty mantra for winter is moisturizing and staying in, summer is the complete opposite. It’s all about lightweight skin care and extra shine—things brands are making sure they're offering plenty of.

Ahead, we've rounded up some of our favorite new beauty launches, so that once summer really kicks in, you’ll be stocked up on all of the products your budget will allow.

MAKE just launched a trio of easy-to-use, multipurpose face sticks to highlight, strobe, and bronze. Each illuminating, creamy stick can be applied anywhere on the face for an extra hint of glimmer.

For all those whose locks get dried out in the summer, this shampoo and conditioner, made from the oils of Amazonian fruit, will quench the thirst and restore your once-desiccated hair.

Your curls will be just a little less frizzy with the help of this product. I’ve been using it to refresh my hair in the morning or whenever it needs extra shine (it has a mongongo, grapeseed, and meadowfoam oils infusion). It also has UV protection, so make sure to spritz if you’re going to be on the beach or out in the sun for long periods of time.

Marc Jacobs Beauty is coming out with a rose gold version of its already popular gel highlighter. Get that summer glow without spending any time in the sun.

Call it the Rihanna effect, but more and more beauty brands are coming out with foundations that come in 40-plus shades. ColourPop is the latest to stretch its inclusive muscle with an extension of the brand's popular No Filter products. On top of liquid foundation, they’re also launching a loose setting powder and pressed powder, which you can use for more humid days.

A wash day doesn’t go by without us reaching for our Wet Brush. Same now goes for this release formula that helps detangle hair (for up to three days!), while strengthening and hydrating locks, fighting frizz, and repairing split ends.

Time seems to speed up in the summer. Maybe it’s because we’re all making up for the months spent indoors hibernating. Either way, you can reclaim yours with this minute mask from Glam Glow. It only takes 60 seconds, so you can apply it before you leave in the morning or right before heading to sleep.

Have you heard? Wet dry shampoo is the new dry shampoo. And amika has put out the best in the game; it lifts and cleanses oily roots without leaving any residue.

Our favorite body scrub company turned five this month. To celebrate, it gifted us with a limited-edition Birthday Cake Body Scrub. Because, as the brand says, who doesn't want to smell like cake?

Part of the non-toxic nail brand’s spring/summer collection, the gorgeous ‘Canal’ has become my go-to nude. Also noteworthy are tenoverten’s new Non-Toxic Nail Dryer Drops; they leave a firm polish surface faster, minimizing any risk of smudging.

Covergirl just dropped our favorite lip colors of the summer: the new 48-shade range, Exhibitionist Lipstick. Each bold and bright tube is packed with pigment and available in a variety of everyday and unconventional shades and finishes.

Moon Juice is taking its first dive into skin care, launching a three-product collection in July. The must-have of the collection? The Sephora-exclusive Plumping Jelly Serum, a lightweight serum infused with silver ear and reishi mushrooms that instantly melts into the skin, leaving the complexion hydrated and smooth.

Sheet masks are often designated to wintertime, but Glow Recipe just made one that screams warm weather. For one, it smells like a watermelon Jolly Rancher, but also, it’s great for when you spend a little too much time in the sun and need to soothe your skin. Oh, and also? It’s see-through, so you can wear it in public without freaking everybody out. Throw it on after placing it in your refrigerator for some real fun.

One of our favorite childhood memories is squirting lemon juice over our hair, sitting out in the sun, and watching our strands change color. Was it good for the hair? Nah. Did it even work that well? Nah. Did your mom get annoyed at you for using up all her lemons? Well, you can tell your mom that her citrus is safe because there's now a modern version of your failed DIY project. If it’s good enough for Jen Atkin, it’s good enough for us.

You might not wear these holographic lip glosses every day, but you can get away with rocking them during the many music festivals you're attending this summer.

Our love of Vitamin C knows no bounds; apparently, the same goes for the beauty industry. Brands have been churning out new products dedicated to the ingredient like crazy lately. Dermalogica’s new serum is one of our favorites as it’s light enough to layer under our sunscreen.

The idea for this body mask came after True Botanicals didn’t know what to do with what remained of its face masks after changing their formula. And lucky for us, because this lactic acid mask, meant to be left on for five to 15 minutes, gently exfoliates dead skin, while stimulating production of collagen and ceramides, thus keeping skin firm and vibrant and leaving your whole body glowing.

Maybelline’s new Lemonade Craze Eyeshadow Palette is just what we’ve been craving this summer. Shimmery neutrals are paired with bold yellows and berries for a 12-shade shadow collection that allows for tons of creativity. Bonus? The palette is citrus-scented. What more could we want?
