Sunday Sizzle: Rockie Fresh Is Bringing The Heat From Chicago

Give him a cheeseburger and he’s good to go

When summertime finally rolls around, nothing is more fun than the combo of good food, good music, and good company. So every weekend, we’re bringing you BBQ must-haves from the hands of our favorite artists so you can get a real taste of what their lives are actually like. Get your hands on the Sunday Sizzle while it’s hot.

While Chicago is repped by the likes of Kanye West and Chance the Rapper, the Windy City has to make room for Rockie Fresh, too. The Chi-town native has a smooth, melodic voice that allows for an effortless flow of boastful rhymes.

The 25-year-old rapper has already produced a serious body of work, churning out eight mixtapes within the last seven years and earning himself a spot on Rick Ross' Maybach Music. Now he's collaborating with the likes of Hit-Boy, Chris Brown, and Ross himself, while also hanging out with members of Fall Out Boy and Good Charlotte.

Given Rockie's ecclectic taste, we had to ask him for his barbecue necessities: "My favorite BBQ dish is BBQ cheeseburgers. Sweet Baby Ray's is my sauce of choice. Kraft Singles are my choice of cheese." As for some tunes, he told us, "My favorite song to hear at a BBQ is Nate Dogg's 'Where I Wanna Be.' It’s a perfect vibe for all BBQ activities."

Check out Rockie's newest mixtape The Night I Went To... on Spotify, and vibe to "Where I Wanna Be" below.
