In an effort to promote body positivity (and swimwear), Mattel and Target have joined corporate forces for a new line of swimsuits. To promote those swimsuits—and this is where the legacy doll manufacturer comes in—three recently released Barbies, of different shapes and colors, has been introduced to the market, all wearing mini versions of Target’s 2016 swimwear collection.
The collaboration is vaguely inspired by the concept of #NOFOMO, which is “no fear of missing out,” but more importantly, it’s aimed at promoting self-confidence and inclusion. Representation matters in all shades, shapes, and sizes, and this is further proof that you don’t need to be size 0 to rock a bikini. All of the swimsuit styles featured in the campaign are available at select Target stores and on Target.com.
