Lin-Manuel Miranda Soundtracks ‘The Magic School Bus Rides Again’ Trailer

“The bus is magic. The science is real.”

Seatbelts, everyone! We have a reboot of The Magic School Bus on our hands, and it features Hamilton's Lin-Manuel Miranda.

In the original animated children’s show, Lily Tomlin played Ms. Frizzle, the quirky teacher who taught science through special field trips on, yes, a magic school bus. Millennials already know this though. The PBS show aired from 1994 to 1997 and quickly made Ms. Frizzle our favorite curly haired redhead (yes, even more than Carrot Top).

A new generation, a new Frizzle we suppose. In the trailer for Netflix’s The Magic School Bus Rides Again, Kate McKinnon will play Frizzle’s younger sister, Ms. Fiona Felicity Frizzle, who's now one in charge of the classroom and how much information students can retain about digestion.

The show is undergoing other changes, too. The theme song, originally sung by rock ‘n’ roll legend Little Richard, is now being belted out by Miranda. The same educational adventures and catchphrases (like, “Bus, do your stuff!”) seem to be intact.

The show premieres September 29 on Netflix. Listen to Miranda's take on the theme song and see the trailer, above.
