Matt Damon Is Stranded in Space in the ‘The Martian’ Trailer

matt damon is stranded in space…again

It hasn't even been a year since Matt Damon showed up in Interstellar as an astronaut stranded on an inhospitable planet, and already he's managed to find himself in the exact same situation, only in a different movie and on a different planet. In Ridley Scott's latest sci-fi thriller, The Martian, Damon plays a space traveler who gets left behind on Mars after his team narrowly escapes a storm. It's then up to him to "science the shit out of this" and figure out how to survive while his friends back home devise a way to get him back.

Based on Andy Weir's immensly popular novella of the same name, The Martian continues Hollywood's renewed fascination with astronaut epics, following the success of Gravity from a few years back. And despite essentially being about one dude alone on a planet, The Martian boasts one of the more impressive casts in recent memory. Jessica Chastain, Kate Mara, Kristen Wiig, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Michael Peña, Sebastian Stan, Sean Bean, Mackenzie Davis, Donald Glover, and Jeff Daniels all show up as the opposite of Martians—humans—on a quest to bring Matt home.

The Martian gets stranded in theaters on November 25.
