The Full Trailer For St. Vincent’s Horror Film ‘XX’ Is Here And It’s Terrifying

We can’t watch!

by Kristin Iversen

I'm not going to pretend I don't scare easily because I do (I have been known to watch whole episodes of Game of Thrones by peering out from behind my fingers), but that doesn't mean I don't love horror films. After all, what's better than getting the visceral, stomach-churning, skin-crawling thrill that only a truly depraved scary movie can provide? Nothing! So, suffice it to say, I've really been looking forward to the impending release of XX, a horror anthology film comprising four parts, each helmed by a different director, including Annie Clark aka St. Vincent, Jovanka Vuckovic, Roxanne Benjamin, and Karyn Kusama.

Today marks the release of the first full trailer for the film, and I'm delighted to report that it doesn't disappoint. While watching it, I found myself legitimately creeped out for the entire run time. Well done, XX. Well done. I feel pretty confident in saying that you'll be creeped out too (unless you're totally chill with the idea of homicidal children who, like, rip the fingernails off of other kids). While the trailer reveals the titles of each of the four different sections ("The Box," "Birthday Party," Don't Fall," and "Her Only Living Son"), it's hard to know exactly what audiences will be in for when the film premieres this year. Well, other than plenty of nihilist kids, creepy old men, scary stuff happening in the woods, and the most surreally disturbing birthday party setup—complete with an alarming looking man in a panda costume—I've ever seen. Check it out below.
