Watch A Young Alicia Vikander Prove She Was Destined For Oscar Gold

It's been an unforgettable year for Alicia Vikander, who capped it all off by taking home the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress, Sunday. And while the history books will show 2015 as the year the Swedish ingenue became a movie star, her real breakthrough happened almost two decades ago.

In a recently unearthed video shot way back in 1997, an 8-year-old Vikander is seen lip-syncing a song in her native tongue. The video, taken from when she appeared on a Swedish talent show, serves as proof that the camera loved her from an early age. Vikander went on to win the competition, and when asked by the host what she wanted to be when she grew up, she knowingly answered "actor." 

Considering that she appeared in a whopping four films last year and already has another four in the pipeline, Vikander accomplished her goal and then some. Next stop for Hollywood's hottest young star? Lip Sync Battle, of course. Watch the young Vikander slay, below.
