Addison Rae arrived to the 2022 Met Gala wearing one of the night’s biggest hair trends— extra, extra long extensions. From Kaia Gerber’s curls and pearls to Venus Williams’ braids with gold beads and Olivia Rodrigo’s fairy hair with life-size butterfly clips, many of the fabulous attendees celebrated the the theme of gilded glamour with the over-the-top opulence and impracticality of waist-length hair.
Ahead, the architect behind Addison Rae’s Met Gala hair look, Danielle Prianon, dishes about the inspiration behind the style and everything you need to get her look.
“A lot of women during the Gilded era grew their hair naturally floor length. Rather than put it up, we wanted to condition and showcase the body, with movement and texture. Everyone was collaborative to embrace the iconography of this year’s theme in a modern way.”
“The best part about this look is you can get it quickly. Start with a great blow dry and ensure all moisture is out of your hair, then go in with large sections to add some curl. The beauty of loose waves is that it's supposed to look effortless, so the curls don't have to be perfect.”
Step 5: Finish the look with an all-over spray of SexyHair's Weatherproof Humidity Resistant Spray to ensure the style stays locked in. “The spray was also crucial for [Monday’s] misty weather, it kept the frizz at bay while Addison was walking the carpet,” adds Priano.
