Sarah Jessica Parker’s Best ‘Sex and The City’-Era Beauty Looks

She’s a Carrie.

We’re as excited as ever for And Just Like That... A New Chapter of Sex and the City on HBO Max, and seeing how our favorite New York City ladies have evolved since we last saw them in the aughts. The original Sex and the City series ran for six seasons, from 1998 to 2004, placing it in the perfect moment for Y2K fashion and beauty. Now that all of these trends are returning, it’s worth revisiting one of the most influential women of the era. Everyone loves (or at least loves to talk about) Carrie’s style on the show, but what Sarah Jessica Parker was wearing off-screen at the same time was just as compelling.

And just like that, we rounded SJP’s 12 best Sex in the City era beauty moments.

For the first screening of the Sex and the City series, Sarah Jessica Parker wore an ever-so-nineties updo, complete with curly tendrils.

There’s a reason we’ll always feel that Carrie and SJP are one and the same. Flowing bright blonde curls with subtle eyeliner and rosy blush is the quintessential Carrie look.

At the 2000 Emmys, Parker’s shiny side-parted hair with soft curls complemented her ballet-inspired dress.

This impressive updo probably launched the ‘00s trend of sock buns and foam donuts to create that extra volume.

Carrie’s late Season 4 chop was, of course, also SJP’s hair. Here, she wears the blunt cut straight and side-parted with a sweet hair accessory.

We all know the bob is back, but the 2002 version looks especially cute in a buttery blonde shade with flipped out ends.

We love this ’60s-inspired ponytail and red lipstick glam, a major divergence from Parker’s usually simple, but polished beauty looks.

Parker’s sleek, center-parted bun, black eyeliner, and golden tan were perfection at the 2003 Emmys.

By the end of Sex and the City’s original run, Parker’s hair was officially dark bronde with blonde ombre highlights, as it would be from here on out.

This mod ’60s updo adds just the right amount of glamour to Parker’s subtly darkly lined eyes and flushed cheeks.

The rich, dimensional brown shade of her loose curls, peachy lipstick, and black eyeliner make SJP’s blue eyes really shine.
