Kenshi Yonezu is an international artist that has been on a steady rise in America. Over the last two decades, the Japanese musician and illustrator has established a die-hard fandom throughout Asia with an impressive evolution from the early days of his DIY tracks to the current anime hits that have made him a star. But it wasn’t until Kenshi penned these popular anime theme songs — including the song “Spinning Globe” for an acclaimed film — that his popularity began to spread overseas. With his popularity skyrocketing in America, Kenshi is riding the wave and bringing his massive Asian stadium tour show to the U.S. for the very first time.

“Kenshi Yonezu 2025 Tour / JUNK” is currently playing in some of the largest stadiums in Asia, from Seoul to Shanghai to Tokyo. Once the Asian leg of the tour concludes, Kenshi will bring his tour through Paris and London and on to some of the biggest venues in the United States. For the first time ever, American audiences will have the opportunity to hear Kenshi perform live in New York City and Los Angeles.

Most of Kenshi’s American fans were introduced to his music through anime, as he’s recently penned several acclaimed theme songs to some of the hottest anime films and series on air. In addition to “Spinning Globe,” Kenshi has released the songs “Kick Back,” Plazma,” and “Bow and Arrow,” which have all gained popularity after being featured as theme songs in major anime series.

With Kenshi’s upcoming tour, American audiences will have an opportunity to get to know the artist’s broader body of work and see his incredible evolution as an artist firsthand. This tour represents not only a major milestone for Kenshi’s career, but a chance for the diverse, genre-defying artist to let his entire body of music stand for itself with American audiences.

Long before Kenshi’s success in crafting songs for anime, the singer debuted in the late 2000s under the stage name Hachi, writing and producing his own music. He eventually signed to a major label under his own name in 2012, building a diverse fanbase within Asia and establishing himself as a versatile musician whose artistry knows no bounds. His 2020 album Stray Sheep sold over 2 million copies and topped the annual rankings two years in a row. In 2024, he returned for the first time in six years to a famous Japanese New Year’s Eve television special.

Kenshi’s reputation in the U.S. truly precedes him, as his song “Kick Back” became the first Japanese-language song to be certified gold by a major U.S. recording association. With the impending arrival of his powerhouse tour in the United States, American fans of Kenshi will finally be able to experience his artistry in person and witness him at a new height of his career.
