Behind Serena Williams’ Diamond-Studded 2022 U.S. Open Outfit

The tennis champion dazzled during one of her final games on the court.

On Monday, Aug. 29, Serena Williams played in the first round of the 2022 U.S. Open in New York City and likely the final tennis tournament of her career. The 40-year-old champion opened singles play with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over her opponent Danka Kovinić — and she did so in style.

For the 2022 U.S. Open tournament in New York City, Serena Williams customized her Nike uniform to include a crystal-studded bodice and six-layer skirt in reference to her six winning titles in Flushing.
