Ji Won Choi Goes Back To Black For Second Collection With Adidas

The second drop of Ji Won Choi's collaboration is on the horizon, and it marries her edgy silhouettes with the classic black-and-white palette of Adidas that we all know and love. Ahead of today's announcement, Choi talked with NYLON about the forthcoming collection, telling us all about going back to basics while staying true to her style and heritage.

Whereas the last drop "was full of bright and bold colors like fuchsia, green, red, navy, and lavender that conveyed this emotion of playfulness," according to Choi, "the black-and-white colorway created a more sophisticated and chic vibe." It also helps that black and white are so much easier to mix and match with the rest of your wardrobe, too.

Many of your favorite silhouettes are back for the second drop, with the iconic Adidas stripes featured throughout. "Anyone who sees three stripes, they immediately recognize that the stripes are Adidas," Choi notes, "so I wanted to amplify it even more" while still keeping the recognizable tracksuit silhouettes. She continues, "It was also very important to include stylistic references to my Korean heritage because I think it's so important to have that representation in fashion. It's a huge deal for such a global brand like Adidas to choose to collaborate with a Korean-American designer, and I wanted to highlight and celebrate this even further."
