Reebok Put 5 Women At The Forefront Of Its "It's A Man's World" Campaign
Kimberly Drew, WondaGurl, and more
Reebok has spun its 2001 "It's A Woman's World," which featured superstars like Missy Elliott and Venus Williams addressing cultural and gender stereotypes, into a new campaign for 2019. Announced today, "It's A Man's World" campaign stars five women who are "defying convention and carving a powerful path in predominantly male fields," per a press release.
Streetwear designer Jazerai Allen-Lord, producer Ebony Naomi Oshunrinde (aka WondaGurl), artist Anhia Zaira Santana, writer and activist Kimberly Drew, and sneaker blogger Sanne Poeze make up the cast. Each woman collaborated on an individual shoe design that "embodies the partners' individual style and bold personalities," per the press release, the first of which is Allen-Lord's reimagining of the Reebok Club C, which will drop on September 1.
Also dropping on September 1 is the core trio of sneakers—a Club C, Workout, and Freestyle Hi—bearing the crossed-out campaign title on the back, along with two monochrome shirts with the same design. Preview the new collection, below, and, while you're at it, revisit the absolute gold that was Elliott's "It's A Woman's World" in the original 2001 campaign.
