Victims of revenge porn often feel helpless, like there is nothing to do to punish their assailants, but, as revenge porn survivor Dr. Spring Cooper shared with NYLON, it is possible to get justice, and victims can and should press charges.

"I had an ex post a lot of revenge porn of me," she explained. "When this first started happening... I wasn't even sure what laws were being broken," she said. "I then found out that, yes, New York City has a revenge porn law—and I happened to be the first one to actually come forward and press charges under it." Cooper, a CUNY professor and yoga teacher, explains the importance of speaking out about this issue, as well as the value of yoga in her own healing.

Hear everything Cooper has to say in the video, above.
