During our cover shoot with Samira Wiley, The Handmaid's Tale actress shared what matters most to her when it comes to acting. She's especially impassioned about ensuring that queer characters aren't used as simply props. Wiley tells us, "If we're telling a story about a queer character, there should be someone in the room, someone on set, someone involved in bringing that character to life, that has a parallel experience in some kind of way."

Wiley loves being able to bring people together by telling the most important stories, which is exactly what she does with her character Moira in the intense Hulu show. And, Moira's struggle is far from over when she escapes to Canada; Wiley shares the nuance of Moira's experience and future in the video, above.
