Selena Gomez's Latest Tiny Tattoo Is A Nod To Her New Album
She headed to Bang Bang tattoo for the delicate ink
Shortly after the release of her latest album Rare, Selena Gomez got a new tattoo to celebrate. On January 16, Gomez posted photos of her new ink, which she received at Bang Bang Tattoo in New York City. Like many of her tattoos, this one is tiny and simple: Rare written in thin black script.
This isn't the only tattoo Gomez has gotten recently. Back in December 2019, Gomez revealed to Capital FM (via E! News) that she got matching tats with Francia Raisa to commemorate the life-saving kidney transplant she underwent in 2017. Fans got a first glimpse at the ink — the date of her transplant, placed on the back of her right arm — on Gomez's Instagram on January 11, but she's yet to post a photo of it close-up to show off the details.
Gomez's Rare tattoo appears to be her 13th, and definitely not the first she's gotten at Bang Bang. A connoisseur of delicate tattoos packed with meaning, Gomez notably got matching semi-colons tattooed on her wrist with actors Tommy Dorfman and Alisha Boe, as a nod to their work on 13 Reasons Why. She's also gotten matching arrows with frequent collaborator Julia Michaels, which point toward each other when they lock fingers.
