Gwen Stefani's "Fashion Icon" Dress Was a Throwback To Her L.A.M.B. Days

The 2019 E! People's Choice Awards took place in Los Angeles on Sunday as something of an unofficial start to awards season. And while this particular event didn't bring us exactly the same caliber of A-List names you'll find at the Oscars and Golden Globes, we were still given plenty of red carpet eye candy to hold us over.

There is no better place to start than with Gwen Stefani, who gave major throwback vibes to her L.A.M.B. days in a custom creation by Vera Wang. The singer wore a hi-low strapless gown made from light ivory silk faille that boasted a large asymmetric bow at the back and the words "Fashion Icon" embroidered down the side of the skirt. This detail paid homage to the award she received that evening, as well as the signature gothic font that graced her "Love. Angel. Music. Baby." fashion line. With our current obsession with all things early aughts, we're kind of down for a L.A.M.B. comeback. Stefani finished off her ballroom-esque look with a pair of long gloves, thigh-high boots, fishnet stockings, and diamond jewelry.

Of course, Stefani wasn't the only one who caught our attention on the red carpet. Zendaya looked stunning in a Christopher Esber gown that featured cut-outs at the waist, sparkling crystal embellishments, and a modern one-shoulder silhouette. Storm Reid went trippy in Iris Van Herpen haute couture, while Joey King inspired some holiday party outfit planning in a rainbow-hued glitter dress from The Attico. The guys pulled up in top-notch designer looks, too, like Rickey Thompson in a green Givenchy suit and Caleb McLaughlin sporting a look from Pyer Moss' Spring 2020 collaboration with Sean John.
