Today Is…

Pucker up! It's National Pickle Day (a.k.a. the best day of the year!!!).

News of the Day:

+Watch Lorde’s killer performance of “Yellow Flicker Beat” and her cover of Jeremih’s “Don’t Tell Em” on BBC’s Live Lounge.

+Everyone’s favorite fashion cat Choupette shows off her feisty side in a new cartoon video appropriately titled "Monster Choupette."

+Two of our favorite books released this fall were Lena Dunham and Amy Poehler’s hilarious memoirs—and it looks like we weren’t alone. Both books’ first week sales are on par with Tina Fey’s memoir Bossypants, which sold 38,000 copies its first week on shelves. Who run the world? Girls.

+Known for their minimalist pieces, French brand A.P.C is launching their line of “Douche Bags” next week. Before you start laughing, “douche” is French for “shower,” so this line of lamb leather bags is really a super luxe way to carry all of your daily essentials. (via the NYLON inbox)

+In today’s weird (and gross) news: if you pay a visit to the just-opened Viktor Wynd Museum of Curiosities, Fine Art & Natural History in London, you can take a whiff of Amy Winehouse and Kylie Minogue’s poop. Wynd isn’t completely clear on how he acquired the poop...and we definitely don't want to know.

Deal of the Day:

Take advantage of Madewell’s extra 25-percent off sale items promo and use the code “FALLBACK" to scoop up some new threads.

Advice of the Day:

“True love is singing karaoke ‘Under Pressure’ and letting the other person sing the Freddie Mercury part.” –Mindy Khaling
