Our favorite '90s bands will always have a place in our hearts, our playlists, and, of course, our wardrobes. On the stage and off, the musicians of the decade knew how to serve up some major looks that complemented their tunes—so we can't help but derive some style inspiration from their performances. After all, we believe that music and fashion go hand in hand. It only makes sense that we steal the styling tips of our music idols.

From the Spice Girls to Hole, the most badass and bold musical acts of the '90s continue to influence our outfit choices to this day. Flip through the gallery to see how you can achieve their best looks in the 21st century.

As the front woman of Hole, Courtney Love stayed true to her personal, iconic style: Think babydoll dresses and Mary Janes. Add a bit of a grunge-y edge with plenty of black lace and liven things up with classic red lipstick.
A dark color palette prevents a Mary Jane-and-dress combo from looking too childish. Bring in some army green to round out the look.

Free People, night out dress, $69.95, available at Free People.
Dansko, mary jane flat, $144.95, available at Nordstrom.
Macy's, bar III field jacket, $64.99, available at Macy's.

T-Boz, Chilli, and of course Left Eye always knew how to rock both the stage and the red carpet. While some of their looks may be harder to pull off in your everyday life, recreate their carefree yet edgy style by mixing up textures and shapes.
A shiny bra and mesh top give off a sporty look, while harem pants are 2015's version of the baggy cargo pants of the '90s.

American Apparel, shiny ombré le sport top, $38, available at American Apparel.
Unif, tiny mesh tee, $58, available at Urban Outfitters.
Nardi, gold hoop earrings, $50, available at Dillards.
Forever 21, abstract windowpane harem pants, $19.80, available at Forever 21.

    Spice Girls

Who could argue that the Spice Girls weren't undoubtable fashion icons of the '90s? Whether you prefer Posh, Scary, Sporty, Ginger, or Baby, you can still incorporate their British club scene vibe into your look for the perfect girls' night out outfit.
It's a British invasion with a dancing-ready look. A fun pink bag gives off major Baby Spice vibes while a simple LBD is a Posh Spice classic.

MissGuided, Serena cropped leopard coat, $50, available at MissGuided.
River Island, pink fluffy cross body bag, $60, available at River Island.

    Tegan and Sara

This girl band sister duo has mastered not only their craft as musicians, but their classically cool style. Never underestimate the power of a fail proof tee or a trusty leather jacket.
A collection of structured jackets makes any wardrobe feel complete. Just pair with an edgy pixie cut for an effortlessly rad look.

J.Crew, tall Sidney jacket, $99.99, available at J.Crew.
Gap, modern stripe crew tee, $19.95, available at Gap.

    No Doubt

Before L.A.M.B. and the expansion of her fashion ventures, Gwen Stefani was the lead singer of our fav ska band and made us realize the vital importance of crop tops.
Achieve Gwen's sporty-chic look by pairing a statement track jacket with a simple crop top and skirt combo. Then, pile on the accessories.

Adidas Originals, tropical track jacket, $105, available at ASOS.
H&M, belt with metal decorations, $9, available at H&M.
Unique, mesh mini skirt, $180, available at Topshop.
