Spend Your Valentine’s Day With Adele

it’s better than being alone, eh?

by Hayden Manders

Valentine’s Day elicits many emotions: love, lust, longing, sadness, joy, and sorrow. Adele, too, elicits many emotions: love, lust, longing, sadness, joy, and sorrow. So this year, why not feel them all, doubly, by spending Valentine’s Day with Adele!

BBC America will be broadcasting a new special, Adele: Live in London, on February 14th. Like her recent New York City special, Adele will go through her roster of classics, old and new. 25 will be featured, in addition to a special rendition of her Academy Award winning song “Skyfall.” (It will be her first time performing the James Bond theme since the Oscars.)

“This is the music event of the year,” Graham Norton, the special’s host, said. “This opportunity to spend an hour with Adele, her music and her stories is a truly rare treat. If I wasn’t hosting this special, I’d be sad at home watching it!” How very enticing. Valentine’s Day plans have never been easier: comfy clothes, comfy food, a sizable bottle of wine, your couch, and Adele on TV. Take that, overpriced prix fixe meals.
