Angelina Jolie Assures The Media Her And Brad Will Always Be A Family

So, stop asking her about it

While other celebrity couples’ divorce details have been monopolizing headlines, we’re sure, more than they’d like, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s split has remained very hush-hush. And, understandably so. They were private whilst together, it makes sense they would continue to be so while apart. Now, though, one-half of the couple formerly known as Brangelina is finally speaking out.

While promoting her upcoming film, First They Killed My Father, in Cambodia (where the Netflix original is also set), a very curious BBC World News reporter asked Jolie about her separation. She answered while tearing up: “I don’t want to say very much about that, except to say that it was a very difficult time... we are a family and we’ll always be a family. And we will get through this time and hopefully be a stronger family for it.”

When asked how she’s coping, she said: “Many people find themselves in this situation… my focus is my children, our children… and my focus is finding this way through. And as I said, we are and forever will be a family. And so that is how I’m coping. I’m coping with finding a way through to make sure this somehow makes us stronger and closer.”

Just this morning, George Stephanopoulos also inquired about the health of her family on ABC News. To which Jolie replied, “We are focusing on the health of our family. So we will be stronger when we come out of this because that’s what we’re determined to do as a family.”

Now that Jolie is making her way back into the public eye, we’re sure there will, unfortunately, be more prodding questions about her personal life. But, we hope not excessively so. Ending a relationship is never fun and is even less so when children are involved, so let’s not force her to relive it every time she’s being recorded.
