Austin Mahone Gets Steamy With Real Life Girlfriend Katya Henry In “Put It On Me” Video
mahomies rejoice!
Austin Mahone is taking a page out of The Zayn Malik Guide On How To Be A Pop Star. By now we've all seen the video for "Pillowtalk," the former One Direction member's first single as a solo artist, in which he enlisted the help of real life girlfriend Gigi Hadid. The song immediately soared to number one on Billboard's Hot 100 chart, while the video is closing in on 200 million views on YouTube in just over a month.
Well, it appears Mahone took notice of Malik's strategy for world domination, and has decided to follow suit. In the new video for his single "Put It On Me," the 19-year-old singer gets seduced by his actual girlfriend Katya Henry. Of course, Henry doesn't have anywhere near the name recognition of Hadid, and "Put It On Me" isn’t the kind of song that will move the needle the same way Malik's "Pillowtalk" did, which may have something to do with the fact that the song isn't off of an official album, but we love watching just the same (not as kinky as it sounds, we swear).
Instead, "Put It On Me" is featured on This Is Not The Album, a collection of songs that's meant to tide Mahomies over until his real album is released. "I know the music you've been wanting hasn't come yet, but I’ve been writing, producing, and getting better at what I truly love to do, and that's why I made this project," Mahone wrote about TINTA back in December. "I don't know when the album will be out so this is a collection of songs that were made by myself and with the help of some good friends to hold you guys over until it does. So in the meantime I'll be working on my 1st debut album because #THISISNOTTHEALBUM."
It's hard to believe that Mahone has yet to put out an official full-length, despite being on our collective radar since 2012. Until he does, the jury's still out on whether or not he can hang with the likes of Malik, Justin Bieber, Nick Jonas, and an incoming Harry Styles, in what's quickly becoming the most crowded field in pop music.
