At 18 years old, Bella Hadid is well on her way to taking over the fashion world. But what you may not know is that the model is also trying to make a name for herself in a second career—off the runway. Hadid is a nationally ranked equestrian and is so passionate about horseback riding that she's training in hopes to compete in the 2016 Olympics, in Rio de Janeiro.
Hadid revealed her Olympic plans in an interview accompanying an appropriately equestrian-themed photoshoot in PORTER Magazine, and shared what inspires her to ride. "You know how every model is like, 'I do yoga.' Well, I find horses have the same effect," she says. "You have to put your ego aside and concentrate on making the horse do the things you want it to do, and move in the way you want it to move."
Until now, the model has kept her athletic goals relatively low on the radar, but judging from the riding videos Hadid has on her official site, she's ready to go for the gold. Watch Hadid and her horse, Nightcap, compete below.
