Fashion

best dressed: jamie chung

color by the cutouts.

In this day and age, it's easy to take things to an extreme level, especially when it comes to fashion trends. Take the cutout, for example. Why does it almost seem like there's more fabric missing than fabric to begin with?

This simple, albeit unfathomable, question has almost turned me off of any and all cutout garments. After all, why bother endorsing something so tired, let alone wear something without an ounce of originality? (Now, here comes the "but"...)

But then, I saw the outfit Jamie Chung wore to the Birchbox flagship store opening. Maybe it's the leather accents, or the fabric play, or the origami angles--I'm not precisely sure, but it just seems fresh, but most importantly simple and

cool.

And that, kids, is exactly what an outfit should be.
