BLOOD DIAMOND

do band-aids need bling?

by faran krentcil

When Cynthia Rowley launched her Band-Aid collection earlier this season, we thought, "Aw, cute." After all, Hello Kitty, Snoopy, Care Bears, and generic "I'm-so-goth" skulls all have their own bandages, so why not a New York fashion maven?

But this week, Sephora goes a step further.  They have a new product called "Boo Boo Bling," which they describe like this:  "Cover skin blemishes, scars, tattoos, and ugly boos with bling!"  The sheets of colored crystals come in five colors, including black, clear, pink, hot pink, and purple.  They're designed to fit directly over a normal Band-Aid and add maximum sparkle.

But we're barely on board with bedazzling an iPhone case.  Should we start sticking rhinestones on bandages, too?  Let us know what you think.  And if you're intrigued or inspired, score a set of five bandage covers on the Sephora website, for $6.
