BUBBLE TROUBLE

we think we’ve found our new favorite holiday.

by rebecca willa davis

It seems like there are specially designated days for everything.

This week alone it's Houseplant Appreciation Day, Peculiar People Day, and Step in a Puddle and Splash Your Friends Day. But when we heard that today was Bubble Bath Day, we couldn't really ignore it; as anyone who has ever soaked in a tub knows, it's one of the greatest ways to spend your down time. And even though we've been doing it since we were babies, it has an aura of glamour about it (we can't help but think of Margot Tenenbaum spending hours in the tub when we think bubble baths).

So here's the plan: Whether you live in a palatial house or a tiny apartment, today you're going to fill up your tub, light a few candles, put on the cheesiest music you can find (we also think either Grimes or Suede would pair nicely with a good soak), and fill up your tub with one of the following bubble bath options. From a Marie Antoinette-inspired scent (of course she was an avid bather) to foam-y cubes to--how could we not include?--Mr. Bubble, there's something for every soaker out there.

Mr. Bubble Original Bubble Bath - $3.79

Soap & Glory Calm One Calm All Bubble Bath - $14
