Carly Rae Jepsen Takes Us BTS In Her Gleeful Gia Coppola-Directed Video

“Cut To The Feeling”

by Taylor Bryant

Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Cut to the Feeling” is one of those songs that instantly changes your mood for the better. Fed up with the MTA? Play “Cut to the Feeling.” Have the Sunday Scaries? “Cut to the Feeling” will make them go away (as will these tips). It’s a temporary fix, but it helps. So, it’s no surprise that the video for the track is filled with smiles, laughs, and multicolored hearts.

The first half of the Gia Coppola-directed video includes shots of Jepsen with her friends and crew members goofing off. From rehearsals to some reckless driving, being on set with Jepsen looks exactly like what we’d expect: lots of fun. One of our biggest takeaways is that the singer makes a good cup of coffee. Though we can neither confirm nor deny this.

The second half shows Jepsen giving an impromptu performance of the song on a star-shaped platform. She does so in black-and-white, a stark contrast to what’s otherwise a very vibrant pop song. Now all we need is more music to keep the good vibes flowing.
