The Look: KENZO’s Spring CampaignOK, so we all know that Wednesdays aren’t the most exciting. It’s long enough into the week where you’re feeling blah, but still the weekend is so far away (ugh). My solution? Ditch the black basics and neutral separates and channel Devon Aoki’s Spring KENZO campaign instead. I’m talking mixed prints, crazy colors, and the more out-there, the better. Skip the whole “On Wednesdays we wear pink thing” and try this instead. The Face: Tarte LipSurgent Lipgloss--$19
Confession: lipgloss makes me nervous. Probably because I’m no longer a teenager and don’t want stick, gooey stuff getting all up in my hair and mouth. But trust me when I say this new version of Tarte is amazing! It’s moisturizing and shiny and glossy, and even better, it lasts forever. Consider Tarte the upgraded version of your middle school self...so teenage mall rats need not apply. The News: Amy Poehler and Tina Fey are together again!
The two friends (who have already proven their chemistry both at the Golden Globes--twice--and in the movie Baby Mama) have both signed on to star in The Nest. Filming is set to start this June, and we.can’t.wait. It doesn’t even really matter what the movie is about-- considering it’s this duo, you know it’s going to be awesome. The Inspiration: Bloom Series
Stop and smell the roses, you guys! Or then again, you could stop and smell the entire bouquet with Bloom Series, the perfect collision of photography and flowers. The Song: “Do I Wanna Know” (Arctic Monkeys Cover) by ChvrchesBy now it should come as no surprise that Chvrches are total pros and putting their own spin on other artists’ hits (see also: Lorde). And while I’ll always love the Glasgow band for their original electro-pop jams, I’ve got to admit, this cover of the Arctic Monkeys’ “Do I wanna Know” is pretty damn good. When Lauren Mayberry sings “simmer down and pucker up,” I get chills.
wednesdays can be fun, we promise!
