The weather's warming up, and you're going to need a whole lot of books to read on those beach trips, plane rides, and warm, sunny days lazing in the park. Before you head to the bookstore and wade through the staff recommendation shelf (or, ok, pick from the bestseller table based on the book covers), Emma Roberts already has it figured out for you. Our girl laid out her 12 summer must-reads on Instagram yesterday, and oof, you've got work to do.

With a great mix of buzzy must-reads, like Donna Tartt's The Goldfinch and Haruki Murakami's Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage, the list also has more than a few classic tomes you should have read in college but probably didn't. Among them are Jean-Jacques Rousseau's The Social Contract, Proust's In Search of Lost Time: Swann's Way, Volume 1 and Albert Camus' The Myth of Sisyphus and Other Essays. They're not your typical beach reads, but they're certainly a great way to keep your mind sharp in the warmer months. To put it in Voltaire terms, being smart and being a beach babe is the best of all possible worlds, right?

To make life even easier, we've laid out the Roberts' entire reading list below. Your next three months are just a few clicks away, and trust us—you need to start now.
