October is officially the month of Gwen Stefani. Last week we recapped all of Stefani's outstanding beauty looks in honor of her birthday, and now comes news that the No Doubt fronwoman is partnering with OPI on seven new nail polish shades. Hallelujah!
Coming out in 2014 (I know, the wait is unbearable), the collection of polishes will include a new semi-matte satin finish in gold and black and a mirrored silver hue. The obvious highlight of the seven part collection is a red polish called Over and Over A-Gwen that is modeled after Stefani's signature red lipstick. That hue will be sold in an exclusive box set complete with black Swarovski crystals and gold and pewter studs in varying shapes allowing you to shape your nails after Stefani's red and studded outfits.
You can thank the Metropolitan Museum of Art for inspiring OPI to collaborate with the music and fashion icon. The most recent exhibit at the Costume Institute, Punk: Chaos to Couture, made the execs at OPI think about other ways music has been influencing fashion. "“With her expertise as a singer, songwriter and designer, who better to collaborate with than Gwen Stefani?" said OPI's Executive VP and Artistic Director, Suzi Weiss-Fischmann. We can't think of a soul!
The shades will retail at $9 while the boxed set is priced at $14.95, meaning getting Stefani's shades for your nails won't break the bank. Can 2014 come a little sooner, please!?
