Years ago, before anyone saw what Heath Ledger's Joker was going to look like in The Dark Knight, the Warner Bros. marketing team used a labyrinthine online scavenger hunt to tease a slowburn reveal. But this is 2015, so obviously instead of an elaborate marketing strategy, Jared Leto, who's playing the Joker in the upcoming Suicide Squad, just went ahead and dropped his villainous new look on Snapchat.
Previously, Suicide Squad director David Ayer teased Leto's look on his Twitter account, but now Leto himself has given us a clearer look at the Clown Prince of Crime's next iteration, which includes hair that is much greener and much shorter than Ledger's iconic tangle of swamp green hair. He appears to be wearing lipstick too, and you can see some facial scars along the lines of Ledger's, but no white make up, yet. It's interesting that the studio is allowing Leto to tease his appearance on a social app rather than revealing it in a polished official image, but hey, we're not complaining. See the image below.
