The first trailer for Joy, the latest collab between Jennifer Lawrence and David O. Russell, doesn't give away the movie's plot, so allow us fill you in. Lawrence plays real-life Long Island mom turned business magnate Joy Mangano, who invented the Miracle Mop, became extremely wealthy, and headed up a dynasty. Not necessarily the stuff successful movie pitches are based on, but in the deft hands of Russell and with the always magnetic Lawrence as his star, Joy looks like an emotional tour de force on the same electrical current as their last two team-ups, Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle. Also, Bradley Cooper and Robert DeNiro show up in this one too, because it's basically a rule now.
Joy comes out on Christmas Day.
