The sad story of Cecil the Lion has resonated with everyone, especially Jimmy Kimmel who got emotional last night while addressing the animal's tragic death on his show. Kimmel spent much of the segment focusing his rage on Walter Palmer, the American dentist who illegally shot and killed Cecil, a popular lion whol lived in a Zimbabwe park, and who was part of an Oxford-led experiment about the effects of hunting.
"The big question is: Why are you shooting a lion in the first place?" Kimmel said. "I mean, I'm honestly curious to know why a human being would feel compelled to do that. How is that fun? Is it that difficult for you to get an erection that you need to kill things that are stronger than you? If that's the case, they have a pill for that. It works great. Just stay home and swallow it, and you save yourself a lifetime of being the most hated man in America who never advertised Jell-O Pudding on television."
Toward the end of his monologue, Kimmel choked up while sending his audience to the Wildlife Conservation Research Unit to donate money on Cecil's behalf. Watch the clip above.
