Junior Prom’s Latest Will Bring the Party Girl Outta You
get on your feet!
Here’s a foot-tapper for your weekending needs. Junior Prom’s latest, “Stand!,” is as fresh as it is fun. Mark Solomich and John Paul Frank have a knack for mixing pop with alt and a punk flare. You’d be hard pressed not to groove a little to this track.
With its tongue pressed firmly in its cheek, Junior Prom’s goal of making its audiences let go is firmly achieved here. It’s a snarky take on our current state where everyone expects to be a somebody without actually trying to be somebody. Speaking to the inspiration behind the track, Solomich said, "It seemed I was always meeting people who wanted to be famous, but had no discernible talent. They weren't singers, actors, artists, fire jugglers etc. They just wanted to be known worldwide for their shining personalities and fabulous lifestyles. It struck me as the oddest thing at the time, but obviously it's been a common thing for a while now. Everybody wants to stand a little higher above the crowd. Nobody wants to be the one sitting on the porch while the party's raging inside." With this song playing, there’s no way anyone would want to sit on the proverbial porch. Turn it up below.
