It's not easy finding a new twist on the zombie genre, but credit the filmmakers behind the new horror comedy Cooties for doing just that. The why-didn't-we-think-of-that premise involves a zombie virus that only infects humans who haven't yet hit puberty. That makes the logical setting an elementary school, and the obvious protagonists a group of teachers who must band together to do battle against their newly brainthirsty students. The likeable cast includes Elijah Wood, Rainn Wilson, Allison Pill, and Jack McBrewer but let's be honest: they don't stand a chance against these little ankle-biters-turned-face-biters.
Cooties hits theaters and VOD on September 18.
