Private Icon: Susan Watts

Before everyone grew up and realized the girls in the cafeteria corners were usually the hottest, coolest ones, there was Susan Watts (Mary Stuart Masterson) in Some Kind of Wonderful. As the tomboy best friend of artist Keith Nelson (played by Eric Stolz), Watts played drums, drove fast, and refused to wear makeup.  And although it took Keith an entire John Hughes movie to realize she was The One, girls with an eye for edgy fashion fell in love with her, literally at first site.
