If you, like us, have been wearing layers of black, white, and gray all winter, Rihanna’s outfit is about to bring your wardrobe back to life. With a combo of warm-weather-ready pastels, she’s working with a color palette that’s a little prettier, a little more precious than what we’ve been rocking since November—and that’s why we’re so drawn to it. There’s nothing to edge-up an outfit quite like a slit in a dress that shows off a thigh tattoo, though, so despite the whimsical colors, girlfriend still looks super cool.

The ensemble—a shiny pink coat with beaded cuffs, buttons, and collar, with a lilac slip dress underneath—is from Holly Fulton. To get a similar look without dropping major cash on couture, just try wearing solid color pastel pieces over each other. Spring is all about newness, after all. Might as well switch things up in a major way, no matter how committed you’ve been to that post-goth vibe.
