BMX and skate innovation…

When I bought my first pair of

Etnies

Scams in 1990-ahem-something (hate to date myself but it's true) and later bought a pair of Sal Barbier's legendary Rap 23's (guys please bring them back), innovation and technology were the furthest things from my thoughts. The truth is that the brand, founded in 1986, has been focused on innovation in skate and BMX footwear since its inception. Not only does

Etnies

pay attention to progress where shoes are concerned, but it has spent a good portion of time giving to the homeless and planting trees in Costa Rica and Brazil. So, what's up for the future of the company?

Well, moving into Spring '14, Etnies is introducing a few new styles that bring everything its ever done together. Take the new Scout, for instance- it's a new style BMX/Skate shoe which features

Etnies

patented Evolution Foam and for each pair that's sold, the company will plant a tree. We've been wearing these kicks since they landed on our desk, and the best way we can describe them is: kinda like a Nike Roshe with a skate grip sole, a good cause attached to them, and all for an unbeatable price.

They're available

now in black, camo, and red. Follow Etnies on Twitter
