With a cast made up of fresh faces and all-stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, and Matthew Modine, Netflix's new series Stranger Things was slated to be one of the most-anticipated works of the summer before plot details were even released. Now, with the first trailer out, it's all but solidified that streets will be empty and couches will be filled when it's released on July 15.

Part mystery, part coming-of-age story, the show is described as "a love letter to the ubiquitous cult classics of the '80s." It follows the strange, sudden disappearance of a young boy. In the town's search for him, they discover top-secret government experiments and supernatural forces. Three boys who find themselves embroiled in the mystery also stumble across a mysterious young girl with a tattoo and knowledge of some large conspiracy. And the missing boy's mother, played by Ryder, discovers that she possesses magical powers. Stranger Things is the first creation of brothers Matt and Ross Duffer, who have previously written for Wayward Pines
