in an emotional video

by jenny lee

Yesterday, Ingrid Nilsen, known on Youtube as MissGlamorazzi, came out in an inspiring video posted on her channel. A beauty vlogger with three-million subscribers to her Youtube channel and 1.2 million followers on Instagram, Nilsen's video has already been viewed more than two-million times.

Nilsen powerfully begins the video with her announcement: "There's something I want you to know, and that something is: I'm gay." Immediately after saying these words, she breaks down in tears, saying, "It feels so good to say that." It is a beautiful and heartwarming moment—the relief she feels in presenting her honest self is incredibly palpable.

In her 20-minute video, Nilsen shares personal anecdotes on when she knew she was gay and societal pressures that made her feel like she needed to conform. The popular vlogger touched on her previous relationships with boys, which she says were all ultimately unfulfilling for her. "This is not something that I chose; It's something that is a part of me and has always been a part of me," she says, revealing early memories of "always feeling attracted to girls," reaffirming the truth that homosexuality is not a decision.

In a confessional tone, Nilsen admits that many of her family members did not approve of her homosexuality. Her desire for love and approval caused her to "live a life [she] did not really want to live." She recollects enduring the difficult journey of suppression and conformity before realizing that she deserved to live happpily and freely.

The video marks Nilsen's move toward living as her truest self, presenting it to her fans. "I want to live my life unapologetically because I am proud of who I am, and I am not going to apologize for who I am anymore. This is the life that I have always lived in my head, and now it’s real." Watch the video, above. We are so moved by Nilsen's courageous video, and have nothing but love and support for this beauty star.
