Kicking off the holiday season at Chateau Marmont, as the fashion gods intended.
NYLON and kate spade new york rang in the holiday season on Tuesday night with a chic, cozy evening at the Chateau Marmont. With A-list guests, unforgettable photo moments, live music, and gift ideas (the new Duo bag in every color, obviously), the celebration was the perfect way to kick off the most festive time of the year, in style.
Guests gathered around a crackling fire and a Christmas tree decorated with ornaments and surrounded by Duo bags and green kate spade boxes. On the terrace, guests posed with a larger-than-life Duo bag and used their printed photos to create super-cute mini frame ornaments.
Warm cookies, seasonal cocktails, and other tasty treats were served throughout the night as guests made song requests on New York deli-inspired tickets.
In true holiday spirit, there were plenty of gifts to go around. Kate spade handbags were raffled off throughout the night, offering guests the chance to complete their look with the perfect finishing touch.
We caught up with special guests (and KSNY ambassadors) Laufey and Ice Spice to talk about their favorite ways to wear the Duo bag and their holiday gifting plans.
NYLON: What’s your definition of femininity?
Laufey: Femininity is grace with a quiet strength. It’s the ability to be soft without being fragile — to embrace emotion, intuition, and beauty in the small things.
Ice Spice: Femininity, to me, is all about confidence. It’s that energy you carry — soft when you want to be, strong when you need to be. It’s owning your power and still keeping it cute.
How would you describe kate spade new york in 3 words?
L: Wearable, classic, and romantic.
IS: Versatile, fresh, and timeless.
What’s your best trick for making a look feel effortless?
L: I think balance is key. I’ll pair something structured with something flowy, or something vintage with something modern. And a warm, autumnal terracotta blush always helps.
IS: It all goes back to confidence. If you feel good in what you’re wearing, it automatically looks effortless. Accessories, too. They really help bring the whole outfit together. I love adding one statement piece and keeping the rest chill — like a vibrant, eye-catching bag or some fire shoes.
Who’s the duo in your life?
L: My twin sister, Junia. We’ve been inseparable since birth, and she’s still my biggest supporter and creative partner in everything I do.
IS: My mom, definitely. We do everything together, and she keeps me grounded, no matter what. She’s also where I got my sense of style from — she’s always had this effortless way of putting things together, and I’ve learned so much just by watching her. She’s my biggest inspiration in more ways than one.
What’s your favorite way to wear the kate spade Duo bag?
L: I love wearing it as a shoulder bag or clutch, with a long coat and a cozy scarf — something that feels put-together but still soft and romantic. It’s so versatile, making it the perfect style for strolling through a city with a matcha in hand or heading to a nice dinner with friends.
Who’s the most challenging person on your gifting list?
L: Probably my dad. He’s very particular, and I always want to find something meaningful rather than practical. He’s the kind of person who already has every gadget he could ever need, so finding something that actually surprises him is always a challenge!
IS: My friends! I’m always on the hunt for something unique that’ll actually surprise them. That said, a girl can never have too many handbags or shoes — they’re my go-to gifts.
What are you gifting yourself this year?
L: Some quiet time. Maybe a few days off to read and write music. And perhaps a new piece of personal jewelry.
IS: Peace and quiet… and obviously, more ice. I deserve it all.
